Framing the Pleiades

The Pleiades were the last stars I photographed during the 2021 Lunar Eclipse. I framed this picture in context of my prior images and sketches.

Continuing the daily series this week of evening astrophotography sessions, tonight I focused completely on the Moon.

Here is what I hope will be the return of an observation technique I have not done for a while – sketching.

I will say this for cloudy weekdays – at least I don’t have to make up excuses for not taking my telescope and camera out on a “school night.”

I had been hoping to take pictures over the course of days to see if changes in its brightness could be detected.

The Memorial Day weekend provided a few good nights of clear or mostly clear skies.

A lot of stargazing stuff happened on or around the Ides of March, and I am still getting caught up.
