I have been on a bit of a hiatus due to other priorities and partial writer’s block. I hope to get back on track with this article.
Better late than never, I have a backlog of content to post going back to April, maybe earlier. My last article was about the Moon on April 14th, and the following night I was outside again, about 25 hours later.
If my blog actually had regular readers, they would have noticed that I revamped the website again, choosing a new and far more robust WordPress theme (JNews) to base computerlookingup.com’s design on. Overall, I am very happy with the new presentation, as I think it looks far more professional. If my website ever grows in function, the new theme will be able to accommodate whatever new user cases may be in my future.
Back to the Moon. There is not must difference between the 43% illuminated Waxing Crescent and this night’s 53%. Photography-wise, the only significant adjustment was the shortening of the exposure from 1/700 second to almost 1/1300 second, nearly halved. The Moon’s brightness seems to increase exponentially around and past the Quarter mark, like what happened here between April 14th and April 15th.
