With excellent viewing conditions on this cool night, I took a number of pictures of the Moon with my telescope and iPhone.

Time to start getting the telescopes out more regularly, as the weather warms but is not too warm yet.

I knew I had to act quickly to photograph them, as they were moving fast and I didn’t know how long they would be visible or if more were coming.

I took a number of images of the nebula, playing around with the exposure and ISO settings.

Inspired by other blogs such as Heads UP! taking cool pictures of Venus near the Pleiades, I knew I had to get in on the action myself.

As an undergraduate studying computer engineering 24 years ago, I read a book that molded my perspective on science, scientists, and politics.

It has been a while since I looked at the Sun through a telescope.

Venus is still a remarkable and bright experience, in the West sky shortly after Sunset.

For those of you that were able to see it, the Moon and Venus were very close that night.
