Finding the Daytime Moon

March 19, 2017

Starlog August 2nd, 2022, 8:32 p.m. local time

The temperature was about 80 degrees Fahrenheit minutes after Sunset.  Warm, but pleasant.  And perhaps most important for my topic, the sky was near perfectly clear.

Tonight’s Lunar image was from a wide-angle view.  I did have shots even wider, with more trees, but I chose the cropping above for balance, acknowledging you are not getting the full perspective of the surrounding landscape and horizon.

Next Moon opportunity will be with a telescope again, for a much closer look, with more clarity.

Equipment Used:

  1. Canon EOS Rebel SL3 on tripod
  2. Sigma wide field lens, 50mm focal length
  3. f/5
  4. 1/100 sec exposure
  5. ISO 100
  6. Minor touchups in PaintShop Pro and AfterShot Pro

My First Saturn of 2022

Paul

Paul

I am the founder and creative director of Computer Looking Up. I have been fascinated by space since childhood. My interest in technology also runs deep, rooted in fond memories of the CRT-anchored desktops my father tinkered with in the early 1980s. Professionally, I have spent over 30 years immersed in the technology sector, serving in capacities ranging from programming and IT to project management. Outside of work, my passions lie in astrophotography, astronomy, and philosophy. Through ComputerLookingUp.com, I explore these interests and aim to build a community where we can share insights—I hope you will join the conversation.
